The Memphis Grizzlies signed center Jay Huff to a standard multi-year contract and filled the 15-man roster

The Memphis Grizzlies have signed center Jay Huff to a new multi-year contract, the team announced Monday afternoon.

Huff originally signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies. He joins Scotty Pippen Jr., Vince Williams Jr. and GG Jackson as Grizzlies players promoted via two-way contracts over the past two seasons.

Huff, 27, has been one of the Grizzlies’ breakout stories through three games. Shooting and rim protection were areas where Memphis needed improvement, and Huff has put in work in those categories. He averages 13 points, 1.7 blocks and shoots 57.1% with 2.7 3-pointers made per game.

By signing the 2.13 meter tall Huff to a standard contract, the Grizzlies occupy the 15th and final available roster spot. Memphis now has an open two-way slot. Point guard Yuki Kawamura and rookie shooting guard Cam Spencer currently occupy two of the three two-way spots.
