The legendary artist insists he’s still got it at age 90

After questions about his health went viral on social media, 90-year-old music legend Frankie Valli went public and insisted that no one was forcing him to perform again.

Valli, the famed Four Seasons crooner, made a statement to People magazine on Monday stressing that at 90, he’s still doing what he loves.

“I know there’s been a lot of talk about me on the internet lately, so I wanted to clear things up,” Valli told People. “I’m blessed to be 90 years old and still doing what I love to do, and as long as I’m able and the audience wants to see me, I’ll be out there performing like I always do.” absolutely love what I do. And I know we put on a great show because our fans still come out in droves and the show still rocks.”

When videos from some recent shows began circulating on TikTok, questions arose about Valli’s health. In one instance, Valli appears in the background during the choreography of his hit song “December 1963 (Oh What a Night).”

In another video clip showing a performance of “Bye, Bye, Baby (Baby, Goodbye),” Valli appears to miss some of the lyrics, leading to speculation of a lip sync.

Valli said the secret to the Four Seasons’ success is talent and experience.

“How do we do the show?! The Four Seasons sound has always been about the layering of vocals and instruments,” Valli said in the statement. “We use our 60 years of experience to make us sound like the records. I sing, I have singers who sing, great arrangements… everything. I have to laugh when I ask in the comments if anyone is forcing me to go on stage. No one has ever forced me to do anything I didn’t want to do.”

Valli said retirement is not imminent.

“I plan on doing shows and delivering the great Four Seasons sound for as long as I can,” Valli said. “Like that line in Jersey Boys, I’m like that bunny on TV that just keeps going and going and going. Chasing the music.”

Valli is currently scheduled to tour until April 2025 and has also played residencies in Las Vegas in recent years.
