The deadline to register for the November election is Monday

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The deadline to register for the November general election is Monday.

To date, more than 644,000 people are registered to vote in Duval County.

Registering is easy and there are many options, including going to the election supervisor in downtown Jacksonville or a public library.

People can register in person on Fridays or Mondays between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m

Duval County voters can also register online at this website.

In St. Johns County, the elections office director will hold special office hours on Saturday.

  • Special hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the office on Avenue A in St. Augustine.

  • The office is also open Fridays and Mondays from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m

More than 42,500 Floridians have already voted by mail.

At the moment, the Democrats have a slight advantage. So far, 18,500 are registered, compared to 15,000 Republicans.

Almost 8,000 are not affiliated with any party.

Early voting dates depend on the county.

In Florida, counties must offer at least eight days of early voting, but some choose to offer more. Georgia counties offer about three weeks of early voting, including at least two Saturdays and possibly one Sunday election.

Voters in Florida and Georgia can also vote by absentee ballot, although there are deadlines for requesting an absentee ballot. In Florida, this ballot must be requested by October 24th, while voters in Georgia have until October 25th.
