The crazy portrait of Shohei Ohtani and Decoy appears in the Dodgers star’s hometown

As the Los Angeles Dodgers returned home to celebrate their first World Series in front of fans since 1988, celebrations erupted outside of downtown LA

From Los Angeles to Oshu, Japan, Dodgers fans around the world are celebrating Shohei Ohtani’s first career World Series title. In honor of Ohtani, a rice field portrait of the Dodgers superstar and his dog Decoy was created in Oshu, Japan, Ohtani’s hometown.

Although Ohtani wasn’t the World Series MVP, his presence in the lineup gave the Dodgers a sense of relief. The superstar suffered an injury during a stolen base attempt in Game 2 of the World Series.

After Ohtani was injured, there was speculation that he would not be on the roster for upcoming games in the Bronx.

However, being the competitor that he is, Ohtani played with a partially dislocated shoulder. Given the Dodgers’ resilience in 2024, that’s no surprise.

“I’m honored to be part of our longest season and to get to know this team,” Ohtani said. “My first year and winning a World Series was a great honor.”

Ohtani added: “I believe we were able to get through the regular season because of the strength of this team and this organization. And the postseason success is very similar to what we accomplished in the regular season.” Again, the strength of the organization is a great honor to be a part of.

Although Ohtani was relatively quiet on offense in the Fall Classic, the Dodgers wouldn’t have made it this far without his heroics in the regular season.

In his first year in a Dodgers jersey, Ohtani had the best offensive year of his career, setting the franchise record for home runs in a season and inventing the 50-50 club.

There is no other player like Ohtani and there probably never will be another player as great as him. Not only did Ohtani win the World Series for Los Angeles, he also won it for Japan.
