The Bulls take a 102:95 lead over the Bucks after three quarters

The Milwaukee Bucks (1-0) hosted the Chicago Bulls (0-1) at Fiserv Forum this evening for their home opener.

Chicago built a 10-point lead at one point in the third quarter and took a 102-95 lead into the final frame thanks to a 39-point quarter. Nikola Vučević and Coby White each scored a dozen in the frame to lead the Bulls.

In a high-scoring first half, the Bucks took the lead 64-63 thanks to a last-second three-pointer from Bobby Portis Jr. Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 17 points in the first half for Milwaukee, while Zach LaVine and White gave Chicago a 17-point lead with 17 each.

Damian Lillard scored 13 points in the first frame to help the Bucks take a 32-30 first quarter lead. With just under two minutes left, Milwaukee led by eight points, but the Bulls closed with a 6-0 run.

Milwaukee came out of its season-opening win over Philadelphia a bit banged up as starting shooting guard Gary Trent Jr. suffered a right calf bruise and Brook Lopez suffered a right quadriceps bruise. However, head coach Doc Rivers said both will be available for the game against Chicago. The Bucks are already without starting forward Khris Middleton.

He is available. The MVP candidate will likely play with right patella tendonitis. He overcame the injury in Wednesday’s season opener, scoring 25 points and grabbing 14 rebounds in the Bucks’ win.
