Is Labor Day a good time to buy a TV?

If you’ve got your eye on a new TV, Labor Day is an excellent time to shop. Several retailers offer discounts on a variety of models and sizes, so you’ll have a top-notch selection at a great price. Plus, there isn’t another major holiday shopping event after Labor Day until Black Friday, so you may have to wait a while to snag another great deal.

How much should you spend on a television?

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. When buying a TV, you should consider your needs and budget. While there are many affordable TVs, some of these models don’t offer all the features of a higher-end model. Additionally, if you want an OLED display, it will cost significantly more than LED and other models.

Size will also play a role in how much you spend, but for a standard entertainment area like a living room, you’ll probably want to invest in a TV that’s at least 55 inches, although 65 inches or more is best in most cases. For bedrooms, you’ll want to go for a model that’s at least 43 inches in size.

If you’re going to treat yourself, a bigger screen is probably the best way to get more for your money. If you’d like more information before you buy, you can read our TV buying guide.

What special offers are available on Labor Day?

On Labor Day, you can save big on expensive items like mattresses and televisions, but you’ll also find plenty of sales on grills, lawn equipment, patio furniture and garden supplies, as well as summer clothing and tech like laptops, tablets and headphones.
