The scary first trailer for the new horror film “The Watched” by Barbarian star Georgina Campbell has been released.

The new film, which is called “The Watchers” in the USA, will be released in cinemas on June 7. In the main roles, alongside Campbell, Dakota Fanning from “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” will be seen.

Based on the novel by AM Shine, “The Watched” was written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and produced by her father M. Night Shyamalan.

According to the official synopsis: “The film follows Mina (Fanning), a 28-year-old artist who becomes stranded in a vast, untouched forest in the west of Ireland. When Mina finds shelter, she unwittingly becomes trapped along with three strangers who are watched and stalked every night by mysterious creatures.”

In addition to Campbell and Fanning, the cast includes stars such as Oliver Finnegan from “Outlander” and Olwen Fouéré from “The Tourist”.

In addition to Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad serve as producers. Jo Homewood and Stephen Dembitzer serve as executive producers.

As the trailer shows, Fanning’s Mina enters a large room equipped with a one-way mirror so that anyone standing outside can see inside.

In the room, Mina asks the three other characters in the room (including Campbell and Fouéré) what they are doing there.

“We are just like you. Lost,” Fouéré replies.

Campbell’s character explains the situation as follows: “They come every night. They watch us until the sun comes up again. There is a window on the other side. They will be very interested in someone new.”

According to the trailer, Fanning leans her head against the glass and hears a strange noise, which is later revealed to be the mysterious creatures applauding the newcomer.

The scary trailer is rounded off with the slogan: “You can’t see them, but they see everything.”

The Watched is scheduled for release on June 7, 2024.
