The Angel Tree Ride returns | News, Sports, Jobs

Members of the second annual Angel Tree Ride Committee are, from left, Wendy and Joe Clemens of Ames and owners of American Tap; Mandi and Andy Jones of Webster City; and Zach “Okie” Mussman of Webster City. Tyler Moen of Webster City is not pictured.

Last summer, the crew, proving they love Christmas, raised thousands of dollars for local holiday funds by hosting the first annual Angel Tree Ride.

The money was used to purchase gifts for numerous children, families and seniors in Webster City who might not otherwise have had anything under the Christmas tree.

Well, they’re back.

On Saturday, the stands will be set up for the second annual Angel Tree Ride, hosted by Webster City’s own American Tap and the dedicated Angel Tree Ride Committee consisting of Wendy and Joe Clemens, owners of American Tap, Mandi and Andy Jones, Zach “OK” Mussman and Tyler Moen.

“We love Webster City,” said Joe Clemens on Tuesday.

One way he and his wife, Wendy Clemens, express that love is by organizing the Angel Tree Ride and having fun while raising funds.

To get the event started early, American Tap is taking pre-registrations for Ride Thursday during Market Night. Just head to the 500 block of Second Street; pre-registration will be held right in front of American from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. You can also indulge in Joe Clemens’ new venture – J’Dubs BBQ – at the same time.

The specially prepared barbecue is not only served on Thursday evening during the market night, but also provides an important refreshment after the motorcycles return from their ride on Saturday.

Here is the schedule:

— 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., registration; $30 for motorcycles, $40 for side-by-sides.

– 11am, wheels spinning, stands set up.

– 3:00 p.m., silent auction at American Tap.

– 5:30 p.m., live auction at American Tap.

– 8 p.m., the Nathan Hansen Band will be on stage for their performance south of American Tap.

Optic Ink T-shirts will be available on this day.

Joe Clemens said: “We hope it will continue to grow.”
