The 12 Best Easter Eggs in the Movie “Five Nights at Freddy’s”

Created by video game developer Scott Cawthon and his company ScottGames, Five Nights at Freddy’s is a hugely popular video game series that reveals the dark secrets of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza and all of its later versions. Since 2014, the franchise has become immensely popular, and much of the franchise’s appeal comes from fan involvement and theories.

Against this background Five Nights at Freddy’s The film, which was released in 2023, was heavily panned by critics, but that didn’t diminish its talent for providing subtle but incredible fan service to players new and old with hidden Easter eggs for all fans to enjoy.

12 Chica’s Magical Rainbow

Although this was partially leaked in a set photo from Ice Cream Parties Parlor, Chica’s magical rainbow can be seen on the ice cream machine and on the employee’s hat when she is with Mike in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Film.

Chica’s Magic Rainbow was an antagonist in the Five Nights at Freddy’s World update. In Fnaf WorldPlayers have the unique opportunity to play as various animatronic characters included in the game, including Chica’s Magical Rainbow.

The sole purpose of Chica’s magical rainbow is to taunt the player throughout the game. With a deceptively friendly appearance, the rainbow spits out cruel comments to discourage the player.

11 The dream theory

One of the most popular theories in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Fandom is the dream theory. The theory insists that the events in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Game are all part of a dream.

In the film, Mike repeatedly references the book, using it to hopefully remember what exactly happened to his kidnapped brother and to find out if any unexplained memories are emerging from his lucid dreams.

Even though the Dream Theory book is not used in the way the theory intended, it is still a nice nod to the fans who have spent hours gathering evidence for the theory and additional knowledge.

10 Sparky the Dog

Sparky the Dog is a completely fictional animatronic created and distributed by fans. He won during the original Five Nights at Freddy’s At release, Sparky the Dog was a non-violent animatronic who was rumored to appear backstage. This was quickly disproven when other players discovered that he was Photoshopped from Freddy and Foxy.

Although this was disproved, it did not stop Sparky the Dog from being a popular OC in the Five Nights at Freddy’s Community. In the film, Sparky the dog is shown with other out-of-service animatronics in the facility’s parts and service room.

9 Shadow Freddy

Had a cameo appearance in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2, Five Nights at Freddy’s 3, Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator, Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help WantedShadow Freddy is a mysterious and rare animatronic who makes brief appearances in the games. In Five Nights at Freddy’s 3Shadow Freddy takes on one of his biggest roles, guiding the character through 8-bit minigames. Not much is known about his character other than his rarity.

In the Five Nights at Freddy’s In the film, the purple Shadow Freddy is seen on the Parts and Service Room security camera. Maxine’s body is then stuffed into the suit. This cameo is again a nod to early fans, and with Maxine’s death, opens up a possibility for his return.

8 Ella the doll

Ella was an animatronic doll that Henry created for his daughter Charlotte. Ella’s first appearance is in Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Silver Eyes. This was one of Henry’s first creations before his suicide and before his family abandoned Hurricane. With little use and being stuck in the closet, Ella is one of the least decayed animatronics in the franchise.

Along with Sparky the dog, Ella lies with the other broken animatronics in the building’s parts and service room. Since Ella comes from a book, this is one of the best-hidden Easter eggs in the film, and only superfans will spot her in the shadowy room.

7 The doll’s music box

During the credits of the Five Nights at Freddy’s The puppet’s infamous music box can be heard in the film. The first appearance of this lanky yet terrifying animatronic was in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2where the player was responsible for playing the music box occasionally to avoid the doll’s jumpscare and the player’s death. This is also one of the few times where a player is explicitly warned of their attack if they fail to rewind the music box before the timer runs out.

The music cameo is an eerie reminder of the game’s previous horrors, reminding players of the sequel to the original game.

6 Youtuber as employee of the month

In the movie version of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, several Youtubers are featured on the “Employee of the Month” wall. Longtime fans and Youtubers of the game featured in the framed images include the likes of Razzbowski, Baz, FusionZGamer, Dawko, DJ Sterf, and 8-Bit Ryan.

Although fans were disappointed that one of the most popular Youtubers who made the game popular, Markiplier, was about to Iron lung and was unable to make a cameo appearance in the film, but fans still appreciated the subtle but meaningful nod to some of their other favorite YouTubers who have helped build a love for the game over time. Five Nights at Freddy’s Franchise.

5 “Come and find me”

The “Come Find Me” heard in the post-credit scene is still a bit of a mystery as to where it comes from and who it refers to. Some fans believe it is a reference to William Afton’s “I always come back”. Others believe it is a direct reference to the “Give Gifts” mini-game in Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. After the player dies, this mini-game can be randomly triggered, in which the player plays as a doll and revives the children who fell victim to the incidents at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

Others believe this was Garret’s way of communicating again. Regardless of the outcome, this is one of the most discussed Easter eggs in the game, as it could be a hint to the plot of the second film.

4 Pill bottles

In the Five Nights at Freddy’s In the film, Mike takes sleeping pills to have lucid dreams and hopefully find out what really happened to his brother. Fans noticed that the pills he takes on his nightstand could be a direct reference to the pills from Five Nights at Freddy’s 4.

In the fourth game in the series, the game is partially set in a child’s bedroom. There is a similar pill bottle on the nightstand, which could connect Mike’s character to that of the child haunted by the animatronics from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. While this isn’t a direct reference to the games, it’s still a small but fun detail that viewers noticed.

3 Midnight drivers

Carl, who tries to get Mike fired in the movie, wears a T-shirt with the minigame Midnight Motorist on it. Midnight Motorist is one of the many minigames that players can play in Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator.

The game introduces the Yellow Man, which has led to numerous fan theories about how this character fits into the story or if he is a replacement for William Afton. Another theory is that the Yellow Man is connected to the “Giving Gifts” minigame and could be the abusive father of one of the children seen in the room.

This little reference is a great Easter Egg, especially for those who like the lesser-known games of the Five Nights at Freddy’s Franchise.

2 Arnold/Tina/Endoskeleton

Referred to by fans as Arnolds, Tinas, or Endoskeletons, the naked animatronics appear in the games as one of the rarer, but still common, jump scares. They are also mentioned by the Phone Guy when he warns Mike about the animatronics’ habit of stuffing people into suits, thinking they are endoskeletons breaking the rules of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.

The endoskeletons themselves are the ultimate antagonists of the film, regardless of whether they are wearing suits or not, as their programming dictates that they put other supposed endoskeletons into suits. In the film, Tina is seen hidden in several security cameras that Mike observes throughout the film. Five nights at Freddy’s.

1 The school board

The list of words seen on the blackboard in the film is very intrusive. The list of words on the blackboard includes things like fox, chick, doll, bear, rabbit, and manager. Fans were quick to recognize the direct reference to the games, adding another Easter egg to the already large number of moments in the film. Five Nights at Freddy’s Film.

Although it is only a superficial allusion, some fans questioned the teacher’s involvement in the story because of the explicit references to the characters from Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
