Tesla’s new truck design causes a stir in Louisiana

Tesla’s latest electric vehicle is receiving rave reviews from buyers in Louisiana and across the country.

In Lafayette, you never know what kind of vehicles you’ll see. You might see a Lamborghini rolling down our streets or an old truck that’s been in the family for 40 years. That’s another great thing about our area.

One vehicle that people are talking about right now is the new type that looks very different from standard vehicles. If you have seen this vehicle, you were probably pretty shocked, like many other people on social media. The vehicles first hit the market in November 2023.

Trying to get a picture of this new type of vehicle on our roads proved difficult, but finally David Fontenot snapped a photo and we thank him for allowing us to share it with you. Some people love the design, others are less enthusiastic.

Although it’s not brand new, having only been released last year, the Tesla truck is relatively new to the streets of Lafayette. You can’t ignore this truck when you see it, as its shape is astonishing.

When Fontenot posted the photo on his Facebook page, he wrote: “What on earth is this futuristic plane? It’s really cool!”

It looks like some of the vehicles in the original version of the movie “Total Recall”! It’s the Tesla Cybertruck! It looks like this huge behemoth will never have to strange curves and small lanes on some of our roadsbut the rear wheels can also steer. Car and Driver gives it an 8.5 on a 10-point scale.

It’s an expensive truck, but what truck isn’t expensive these days? The base model retails for about $79,000, but people pay a lot more for their Tesla Cybertrucks because they can be customized, which increases the price significantly. So far, Tesla has sold about 11,500 of these trucks.

And while the first vehicles were predominantly grey, they are now available in six different colours:

Supercar Blondie, one of the most popular car ladies on social media, shares her thoughts on the Cybertruck:

The vehicle has particularly sharp edges, according to testers, but is spacious inside and offers plenty of room. Driving is different from a normal steering wheel, so you may experience a learning curve.

Although there are many positive reviews, there are also some owners who have problems with the Tesla Cybertrucks. According to DailyMail, New York police officer Joe Fay says he hates that you can see hand and fingerprints all over the body of the vehicle.

He adds that cleaning the interior can be difficult. His biggest problem, however, is that the vehicle is so interesting to people that it takes him forever to finish his tasks. Because the vehicle is such an eye-catcher, people are constantly bombarding him with tons of questions.

Boys like Scotty Kilmer say it is “the deadliest vehicle of all time“. Here is his YouTube video explaining what he means:

How long does it take to charge the Tesla Cybertruck?

We go back to the New York State Trooper Joe Fay for an answer to this:

Above we mentioned that you need to be very careful when closing the front trunk (or frunk as Tesla calls it) as you should be careful to keep your fingers out of the way while driving to avoid injury. Jeremy Judkins shows exactly why in this video:

The electric truck has good reviews in some industries, but what does the future hold? Well, it seems like only time and people’s demand for one of these vehicles will tell us. Yahoo Finance gives us a prediction on whether or not we will all see more of these vehicles on our roads.
