Terry Bradshaw’s bizarre accent confuses Fox NFL hosts

Terry Bradshaw’s colleagues didn’t believe it.

During “Fox NFL Sunday” before Week 4, Bradshaw talked about Andy Dalton making his second straight start for the Carolina Panthers, facing his former team, the Cincinnati Bengals.

Bradshaw, 76, did so with an accent he later described as “Carolina,” which left the Fox crew shaking their heads.

“Well, that’s the question everyone’s asking right now,” Bradshaw began with the accent. “Down in Carolina, Andy Dalton faces his former team, the Bengals. And I don’t think anyone predicted what he did last week: 300 yards and three touchdown passes.”

Howie Long chimed in, wondering if the Louisiana native Bradshaw was trying to do the Colonel Sanders Kentucky Fried Chicken accent, while Michael Strahan said the Hall of Fame quarterback sounded like Rosco P. Coltrane, the sheriff from “The Dukes of Hazzard”.

Viewers were also confused by Bradshaw’s attempt at the accent.

“Come on Terry, the people of North Carolina have suffered enough this week,” one X user wrote in response to Awful Anncreasing’s recent video, referencing the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene.

“Terry Bradshaw sounded like Forrest Gump – I’ve lived in North Carolina for 25 years – I’ve never heard anyone sound like that,” another X user responded.

This isn’t the first time this season that Bradshaw has confused his colleagues.

In Week 1, at the start of the pregame show, Bradshaw tried to express his excitement about being back with the team for a new NFL season.

“I haven’t been this excited since my aunt taught me to spin the bottle,” Bradshaw said at the time. “It’s a great day.”

“That’s how we start the season, right?” Host Curt Menefee replied.
