Terex Utilities donates and plants trees

The Terex Utilities Sustainability Committee recently donated a tree mix to Codington County Memorial Park in South Dakota and planted spruce trees on the grounds of the Terex Utilities facility in Watertown. This initiative underscores Terex’s commitment to enhancing local ecosystems and supporting community green spaces as part of its commitment to sustainability, community engagement and biodiversity initiatives.

Terex Utilities is also making a positive impact on the planet with its sustainable solutions. Terex has brought several environmentally friendly solutions to the utility market over the years – most recently the HyPowerTM SmartPTO from Viatec and the all-electric Bucket Truck. These products allow the aerial platform to operate without idling the truck engine, providing utilities with solutions to help them meet their carbon emission reduction goals.

“Today, Terex Utilities hybrid and electric boom lifts are in operation throughout the United States and Canada, and are also being used in other international markets,” said Joe Caywood, Director of Commercial Operations at Terex Utilities. “Just as utilities use these machines to reduce emissions in the communities they serve, the tree planting drive is one of many steps Terex is taking to lead the industry in sustainable practices.”

“We would like to thank the Codington County Conservation District for their help with this project,” said Alicia Haich, sustainability officer for Terex Utilities. “They helped our committee with recommendations for local trees and their placement and made the donation to Memorial Park possible,” she said.

The Terex Sustainability Committee is committed to researching and promoting environmental stewardship and sustainability. The donation of trees to the local park is consistent with Terex’s mission to support and improve the communities in which it operates.
