Terence Crawford wears a custom belt as he leaves the Nebraska Huskers in front of 87,000 fans

Terence Crawford has performed in front of large audiences over the years, but never was the audience as large as on Saturday.

The pound-for-pound boxing superstar was tasked with accompanying his hometown team, the Nebraska Cornhuskers, to an important college football game.

86,906 spectators crowded into the sold-out Memorial Stadium to watch Crawford’s favorite team compete in an exciting game against the Colorado Buffaloes.

The former undisputed welterweight champion wore a different type of belt when he led the Huskers on their 1994 national championship team

It looked like one of his many boxing victories, but upon closer inspection it became clear that the belt was unique as it bore the team’s logo.

Footage of the event shows Crawford sprinting out of the tunnel with the players who extended their perfect record to 2-0 at the start of the season.

With a dominant defensive performance, the Huskers won 28-10 and avenged the 36-14 loss they suffered against Colorado last year.

After the game, Crawford shared several pictures and videos from his day on social media with the caption: “Today was a good day!!! GO BIG RED!!!”

“Bud” had to watch as his comment section was flooded with American football fans.

One said: “I knew it was over when I saw Terence leading her out.”

Another commented: “This needs to be enlarged, with the final score for the crib.”

A third person added: “I knew we were in trouble when you came out with the belt, champ.”

Crawford is currently enjoying some time off after recently winning the world championship in a fourth weight class by defeating Israil Madrimov in a light middleweight title fight.

For the 36-year-old, his remarkable 11-fight knockout streak, which stretches back to 2016, ended when he won a controversial unanimous decision victory over the previously undefeated fighter from Uzbekistan.

Canelo Alvarez was expected to be the next to win, but His Excellency Turki Alalshikh claims the Mexican boxing superstar turned down his offer.

Terrence Crawford denies using Canelo Álvarez to promote Israil Madrimov and speaks out about the Mexican’s excuses for turning down a fight

The Saudi boxing boss then announced that he was no longer interested in the fight and wanted Crawford to face undefeated American star Vergil Ortiz Junior instead.

Crawford certainly has no shortage of alternatives. Ryan Garcia recently called him an “overrated bum” and said he wanted to fight the Nebraska native to prove it.

Only time will tell who Crawford will put his 41-0 record on the line next.
