“Tell Me Lies” Season 3: When is the Hulu series coming out?

It was an emotional rollercoaster Tell me lies Season 2 ended on October 16, 2024 and fans are eager for more episodes. Based on Carola Lovering’s novel of the same name, the Hulu drama follows the toxic relationship between Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White), who met during Lucy’s freshman year at the fictional Baird College. Over the years, their relationship falters as they occasionally cheat on their respective partners.

Season 2 ended with a wild, explosive finale that promises that Season 3 will deal with the fallout from a decades-long revenge plot. Read below to find out everything we know about the future Tell me lies until now.

Has Tell Me Lies been renewed for season 3?

Hulu hasn’t shared any news about it yet Tell me lies‘ future, but there’s plenty of excitement to keep the series alive. For the past two months, fans of the series have been regularly taking to social media every week to discuss the latest plot twists, and the series remained in Hulu’s top 15 in the US throughout its second season airing.

The Season 2 renewal announcement came a month after the first season debuted in October 2022, so chances are fans can expect some good news in the coming weeks.

When does the third season of “Tell Me Lies” come out?

Even if Tell me lies receives a quick extension, fans will have to wait a while for new episodes. Season 2 debuted on Hulu in September 2024, two years after Season 1 debuted in October 2022. The streamer may choose to rush new episodes, but if Season 3 follows the established schedule, new episodes will likely arrive in fall 2026 .

Who in the Tell Me Lies cast would return for Season 3?

Since Tell me lies It wouldn’t be the same without Lucy and Stephen, it’s almost guaranteed that Grace Van Patten and Jackson White would return in season 3. It is also likely that the rest of the main cast will reprise their roles, including Catherine Missal (Bree) and Spencer House (Wrigley), Sonia Mena (Pippa), Branden Cook (Evan), Alicia Crowder (Diana) and Natalee Linez (Lydia ).

As for one of the show’s most shocking storylines, Tom Ellis likely won’t be returning as Oliver in Season 3. In conversation with diversityCreator and executive producer Meaghan Oppenheimer revealed that the Lucifer The actor (who is also Oppenheimer’s husband in real life) “only wanted to do one season,” adding that she believes Season 2 “concluded his storyline in a way that really worked.”

However, it’s likely that Gabriella Pession’s Marianne will be back, as Oppenheimer says: “There’s a lot more story to tell with her.”

What would Tell Me Lies Season 3 be about?

Spoilers for them Tell me lies The finale of the second season is approaching. In the season two finale, years of toxicity between Stephen and Lucy reach a climax as Bree and Evans’ wedding begins. After Lucy’s boyfriend Max breaks up with her, she immediately runs to Stephen for comfort, but Stephen doesn’t agree with the (supposedly) happy ending. Instead, just before Bree is about to walk down the aisle, Stephen sends Bree an eight-year-old audio recording of Evan confessing to cheating on her with Lucy at that Hawaiian college party. So there is The to cope.

Aside from the next season potentially starting with a runaway bride scenario, there are plenty more storylines to follow in the upcoming episodes. We still don’t know how Stephen got engaged to Lucy’s ex-girlfriend Lydia in the later timeline and how the illicit college affair between Bree and Oliver (and now Marianne) will end. It’s also about Pippa’s journey to (hopefully) seek justice for her assault and the shocking death of Wrigley’s brother Drew. Not to mention, by the end of season two, almost no one knew about Stephen’s involvement in Macy’s death.

In the last two seasons Tell me lies has grown beyond the original novel and expanded the roles and storylines of several supporting characters, including the main duo’s friends. Still, the series mostly sticks to the basic events of the novel; Season 1 covered about a third of the book’s material, and Season 2 gave even more creative freedom to the book’s plot. Since many of the series’ main characters (especially Lydia) follow the same paths as the series, there is a good chance that reading the book will only provide minimal insight into the future.

What do the cast and crew say about the third season of “Tell Me Lies”?

In a breakdown of the second season finale with diversity, Tell me liesCreator and executive producer Oppenheimer teased that the third season could feature a time jump, as the new episodes would likely focus more on the 2015 timeline than the 2008 college days. (To be fair, we have Away More questions about where the friend group ended up later.)

“I planned this way in advance when I was just thinking about the structure of the show,” Oppenheimer said of plans to include more scenes from 2015. “And I thought, as time goes on, we’ll learn more and more about the future. I think we’ll still have some of 2008 by season three because there are things we need to wrap up there. But I think that would be shifted a little bit in the sense that there will probably be more in 2015 than in 2008.”

Meanwhile in an interview with The Hollywood ReporterStars Van Patten and White (who are together in real life) shared their thoughts on the cliffhanger in the crazy finale and the future of their characters. “I couldn’t believe Stephen had recorded Evan saying that (cheating on Bree with Lucy) and saved it for how many years? “Eight years,” Van Patten said of the moment, and White later added that Stephen’s revenge was “psychotic.”

“The work that this man had to do to hold a bomb for eight years… so much work,” Van Patten continued. “It just exceeded my expectations of how manipulative he actually was. I really couldn’t believe it. I was also shocked and am so curious to see what Meaghan would have in mind for a third season and what the rest of it would be like as a wedding.”

When asked about his hopes for Stephen’s future, White said: “I wonder if it would be cool to see Stephen completely stuck with nowhere to run or go. I don’t even know what that means, like there’s no method of manipulation.” His way out of something. And then Meaghan said there was an idea for a threesome with Wrigley and if that came up I wouldn’t oppose it. But we’ll see, I’ll keep my fingers crossed.
