Tech entrepreneur Alfonso Cobo offers loft in New York for $6.9 million

Technology entrepreneur and influencer Alfonso Cobo, co-founder of Unfold and Hypelist, is about to put his completely renovated Tribeca loft on the market for $6.99 million.

The exquisite duplex is located at 415 Washington St., better known as Fairchild.

It features two patios, a fireplace, impressive 21-foot ceilings and double-height arched windows.

Cobo made his name as the co-founder of Unfold, a mobile app that lets users create Instagram Stories popularized by celebs such as Kim Kardashian, Selena Gomez, Mariah Carey, the Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus; Unfold also worked with Equinox and Tommy Hilfiger.

By 2019, Squarespace purchased the app, which had grown to 16 million users.

The trained architect and Spanish-born entrepreneur worked with interior designer Helena Clunies-Ross to renovate the space from the ground up. The images seem to be straight out of a design magazine.

Nevertheless, it was featured in Architectural Digest and screams “quiet luxury.”

Cobo paid $4.6 million for the home in 2022—8% above the asking price of $4.25 million—and then invested in a major renovation.

The home is currently set up as a one-bedroom bachelor pad — complete with a custom-made couch where friends hang out and play video games, Cobo explained in his YouTube video house tour. However, the loft can also be converted back to its previous three-bedroom, three-bathroom floor plan.

The calming tones and details create a Zen-like respite from the city. The neutral color scheme is soothing, while the dark gray painted ceilings provide a sense of tranquility, Cobo said.

The home has a lockable elevator and opens into a great room with a 15-foot olive tree, a custom 20-foot bronze patina bookcase, a fireplace, and double-height arched windows with stained American white oak screens.

A black oak column forms the focal point of the chef’s kitchen, which features marble countertops and whitewashed walls, as well as a hidden pantry for storage under the stairs.

The lower level also features a study with a custom walnut bookcase and workstation, silk wallpaper, a custom sofa by Helena Clunies-Ross Design, walk-in closets and a patio with planters.

The upper level offers the master suite with a king bedroom, boutique-style windowed walk-in closet, private deck, and en-suite spa-like bathroom. The loft also includes a washer/dryer, separate storage, and light oak floors.

The whole thing is located in a former warehouse from the 19th century, with a doorman, caretaker, bicycle room and storage room.

The brokers are Brandon and Mallory Bogard of Serhant.
