The New Orleans Saints’ loss to the previously 1-7 Carolina Panthers was brutal in itself, but when you look at the statistics that led to this point, it’s even worse. According to ESPN’s Bill Barnwell, the Saints became the first team in 20 years to lose a game in which they:

Additionally, these three qualifiers occurred in 275 games over this 20-year period, and the Saints are the only team to have lost in all three games in a matchup. So the teams that dominate so well are now at 275-1, with New Orleans being an outlier. That’s embarrassing.

This loss is primarily due to the coach as they knew what worked in the run game but still managed to lose the game due to poor playmaking and decision making when taking advantage of timeouts. An all-around ugly loss for New Orleans, which moves to 2-7.
