TCL has just released its answer to one of the most popular TVs in the world. The NXTFrame 4K Smart TV is designed to work with the Samsung Frame TV. When not in use, it displays famous works of art, just like its rival. The TVs themselves are even designed to look like framed masterpieces.

The TCL NXTFrame 4K TV is available in four QLED screen sizes – 55 inches, 65 inches, 75 inches and 85 inches – runs on the Google TV operating system and is designed for wall mounting thanks to its flush mount design.

Like the Frame, TCL’s version is about 2.5 cm thick.

The NXTFrame’s cream-colored, picture-frame-like bezel fits well in almost any decor. But if you don’t like it, we have good news: The TV also comes with a light wood-colored bezel, so you can quickly swap it out. Like the Frame, the NXTFrame has a matte display with an anti-glare and anti-reflective filter. This not only makes everything you’re watching look great, but also makes the artwork look incredibly realistic – like a real painting.

While the Frame TV charges for access to its more extensive art library, TCL offers its entire collection for free. Plus, you can place a custom digital mat around each piece or use the TV’s photo gallery mode to showcase your own images.

No matter what you’re watching, TCL’s AIPQ Pro processor improves color, contrast, clarity and motion, while Quantum Dot technology ensures colors (up to 1.07 billion of them) appear vivid and accurate. Picture quality is also improved thanks to support for Dolby Vision IQ, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG. For sound, the TV supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual X.

This TV is also great for watching action movies and sports, as well as gaming. That’s thanks to the TV’s 120Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted up to 144Hz for smooth and stutter-free action. (The Samsung Frame maxes out at 120Hz refresh rate.) And when it comes to gaming, the NXTFrame offers Auto Game Mode (ALLM) and AMD FreeSync Premium support, so you can expect a lag-free and highly responsive experience.

One notable feature is that the NXTFrame TV can pair with any Bluetooth headphones or earbuds so you can enjoy a private listening experience. And as you would expect from a state-of-the-art TV, it is equipped with four HDMI ports (including one with eARC). The TV comes with a voice-controlled remote that gives you access to Google Assistant. So in addition to controlling the TV with voice commands, you can also control other compatible smart devices and home appliances. Chromecast and AirPlay are also supported so you can stream content from your Android or iOS mobile device.

The NXTFrame 4K TV is available in four sizes: 55 inches ($1,500), 65 inches ($2,000), 75 inches ($2,500) and 85 inches ($4,000).

When the NXTFrame Pro versions of the TV launch in September, they will include speakers co-designed by Bang & Olufsen, but the price for each size will be about $500 higher. Available options for both versions of the NXTFrame TV are a tabletop stand and an articulating easel stand. Flush wall mounting is included.
