Taylor Swift made a highly anticipated appearance at the Kansas City Chiefs game on Monday, October 7 — where she ran into a controversial friend of hers: Brittany Mahomes.

Swift, 34, arrived at Arrowhead Stadium in a plaid dress and knee-high boots, ready to cheer on her boyfriend, Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. This was her first appearance at a Chiefs game in over two weeks, with her absence briefly sparking rumors of a breakup, especially given her absence from Kelce’s 35th birthday celebration. Swift and Kelce clearly dispelled the gossip when Swift arrived at the stadium.

As she entered the venue, Swift was seen hugging Brittany, the wife of the team’s star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. In a fan-captured video from the game, Brittany, 28, ran up to Swift and hugged her tightly as Swift returned the hug.

Brittany – who is currently expecting her third child with Patrick – was spotted wearing a red leather suit appropriate to appeal to the Chiefs (and also to Britney Spears in her 2000 video for “Oops I Did It Again.” remembered).

This moment between Brittany and Swift is the latest cute encounter between the pals following their embrace at the US Open in September. Swift and Brittany’s appearance at the iconic tennis event was a double date with their partners, which came hot on the heels of rumors that the Grammy winner and the Kansas City Current co-owner were no longer friends due to their political differences. As fans know, Swift supported US presidential candidate and Democratic contender Kamala Harris back in September. Although Brittany herself has not publicly endorsed any candidate, she came under fire back in September after liking posts in August that outlined Trump’s proposed policies.

Brittany later took to her Instagram Stories to combat the backlash against her apparent support of Trump and JD Vance by calling out “haters” with “deep-rooted issues.”

Following Brittany’s social media activity – and Swift’s support of Harris – Trump thanked Brittany for her support and said he likes her better than Swift. The former president even went so far as to post “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT” on his Truth Social page.

Although Swift and Brittany’s differing politics are rumored to have caused a rift between them — especially because they sat far apart from each other at the Chiefs’ season opener on Thursday, September 5 — it seems their friendship is still going strong.

While power couple Tayvis will certainly be busy over the next few months – as Swift prepares for her final leg Epoch tour and Kelce dominates the football field and makes several TV appearances – it appears the Grammy winner’s presence at Monday’s game brought good luck. The Chiefs won the game with a 26-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
