Tacko Fall spent two seasons with the Boston Celtics between 2019 and 2021. He immediately became a fan favorite due to both his size and his personable nature. Unfortunately, he struggled to crack Brad Stevens’ rotation that fall, playing a total of 26 games for the Celtics. Instead, the giant man spent most of his time in the G-League. He also played for the Cleveland Cavaliers for a year, but was rarely included in their NBA rotation.

Since leaving the NBA, Fall has continued to work on his game. He spent the 2022-23 season with Xinjiang in the Chinese Basketball Association before working with Nanjing last season. Fall has now left for the New Zealand Breakers, where he wants to prove himself in one of the most competitive leagues outside of the USA.

During a recent interview with The Post’s Marc Hinton, Fall discussed his upcoming season in a new country. However, that doesn’t mean he doesn’t keep an eye on what’s happening in the NBA. In fact, Fall quickly announced his belief that the Celtics would be champions again this season, building on the success they had en route to a record 18th championship title.

“It’s not because I played for Boston,” Fall said. “…OK, I’m a little biased…but I think they have the best team in the league right now.”

If Fall can impress during his time in New Zealand, he could potentially convince another NBA team to give him a chance.

Still only 28 years old, he has enough potential as a rim protector and lob threat to compete for a spot on the bench.

Still, Fall may conclude that his career is already shaping up to be a good one, and if it works out, staying with the Breakers could be a viable option for him for the foreseeable future.
