While it may not be the most exciting game of the weekend on paper, Motherwell vs Hibs should be a cracker based on their recent performances.

After three wins from three games, Hibs are third in the SWPL table, having scored 15 goals – the same number as last year’s champions Celtic.

Motherwell have been victorious in their first two games and although they suffered a 5-1 defeat to Celtic on Wednesday, their performance against the reigning champions was extremely impressive.

Sunday’s game will also be a good indicator of how far Paul Brownlie’s side are from the full-time teams.

They finished last season as the best team of the rest, 30 points clear of the relegation zone, while Hibs finished fifth, nine points behind their Edinburgh rivals Hearts.

Motherwell’s Morgan Cross, who fired the ball into the net against Celtic, looked hugely dangerous on the left, but Hibs’ Linzi Taylor finally got the better of it with two goals from midfield.
