SAN FRANCISCO – The Golden State Warriors’ start to the season was a dream.

Midway through the second half of their home opener, they experienced their worst nightmare.

Steph Curry fought through a screen late in the third quarter of Sunday’s 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers and appeared to twist his left ankle. He immediately limped to the Warriors’ bench, where he sat down and received treatment before returning to the game at 8:07 of the fourth quarter.

However, Curry only lasted 13 seconds and one offensive ball before it appeared he aggravated the injury while setting a screen. He hobbled off the field with an even more conspicuous gait than before and ran straight down the tunnel to the locker room.

According to the Warriors, Curry suffered a sprained left ankle and was unable to return.
