PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Significant restrictions on water access in and around Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach will be in place starting Monday. The United States Coast Guard has issued the following marine safety information bulletin:

This MSIB informs the public of the temporary enforcement of three security zones near the Mar-a-Lago Resort in Palm Beach, Florida, as defined in 33 CFR 165.785. The Coast Guard will enforce these zones to ensure the safety of persons under the protection of the U.S. Secret Service. A description of the zones and their restrictions follows:

US Coast Guard access restrictions.

The West Zone consists of the waters of Lake Worth Lagoon from the surface to the bottom, including the Intracoastal Waterway from the southern tip of Everglades Island, approximately 1,000 yards south of the Southern Boulevard Bridge, and from the west shore to Fisherman Island. All vessels transiting the West Zone must maintain a steady speed and must not slow or stop in the Zone.

The Middle Zone consists of the waters of Lake Worth Lagoon from the surface to the bottom, beginning at the southern tip of Everglades Island to approximately 1,000 yards south of the Southern Boulevard Bridge and the eastern shoreline to Fisherman Island. No vessel or person may enter the Middle Zone without obtaining permission from the Coast Guard or designated agent.

The Eastern Zone consists of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean from the surface to the sea floor, from Banyan Road in the north to Ocean View Road in the south, and from the shore to approximately 1,000 yards east. All vessels transiting the Eastern Zone must maintain a steady speed and must neither slow nor stop in the Zone.

No person or vessel is permitted to enter, anchor or remain within the Safety Zone without the permission of the Port of Miami Master or designated representative. Persons or vessels wishing to contact the Port of Miami Master may do so by telephone at (305) 535-4300 or via VHF Channel 16.
