St. Louis Blues and Vegas Golden Knights odds, tips and predictions

The St Louis Blues (2-0-0) against the Vegas Golden Knights (1-0-0) Friday. Puck drop from T-Mobile Arena is scheduled for 10:00 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze the 24/7 NHL odds from BetMGM Sportsbook Blues vs. Golden Knights Opportunities and meet our NHL expert picks and predictions.

Season Series: First Meeting; VGK won 2-1 last year.

The Blues secured their second straight comeback win with a 5-4 OT win over the San Jose Sharks on Thursday night. We cashed in all three bets. They went into the third period trailing 4-1 and scored 4 unanswered goals, leaving them with 2 points. They opened the game quickly with 22 shots in the first period, more than they had in a first period in over a decade. However, they were unlucky in a 1-2 defeat. But they found a way. This is a very different team to the one that managed just four wins last season after conceding several goals.

Vegas may not be in Carolina, but it was a natural disaster against the Colorado Avalanche with an 8-4 W on Wednesday. C Ivan BarbashevRW Mark Stone and LW Victor Olofsson Each scored 2 goals in the loss. Vegas lost a lot of pieces in the offseason, but what remains is clearly moving to another level.

  • Moneyline (ML): Blues +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Golden Knights -225 (bet $225 to win $100)
  • Puck Line (PL)/Against the Spread (ATS): Blues +1.5 (-145) | Golden Knights -1.5 (+120)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 6 (O: -115 | U: -105)

The Blues at the Golden Knights were the projected goaltenders

Jordan Binnington (1-0-0, 2.00 GAA, .938 SV%) vs. Adin Hill (1-0-0, 4.00 GAA, 0.875 SV%).

Binner stopped 30 of 32 shots in the season opener. He saved 1.7 goals above expectations and really kept the team on the ball long enough for them to get going. He was under pressure early and often and was on his head at points in the game. He was 1-1-1 against VGK last year with a 2.70 GAA and a .931 SV%.

Hill stopped 28 of 32 against the Avs in his first start this year. He wasn’t healthy last season against the Blues, but stopped 25 of 28 games in a 3-2 loss to the Blues in the 22/23 season.

Blues at Golden Knights tips and predictions

forecast

Golden Knights 3, Blues 2

Money line

The Blues have pulled a rabbit out of a hat in the first two games of their road trip and are really playing with house money here. If they could get a point at the end of a meeting that would be great. Binnington keeps her in, but VGK is too strong. However, we are not spending -225 on the Knights.

Instead I take JACK EICHEL UNDER 4.5 SHOTS (-165). He had 4 assists and 3 SOG in the first game of the season. I’m really looking for C Robert Thomas Acorn to play closely.

Puck Line/Against the Spread

These teams have played 1-goal games 4 times in the last 6 meetings. Binnington doesn’t get enough credit for how good a goalkeeper he is, and he stands up for these matchups.

Take BLUES +1.5 (-145) at a very affordable price.

Over/Under

In the three meetings between these teams last year, The Under came into the money twice. The over is 1-1 for St. Louis and 1-0 for Vegas so far.

I’m looking for a close one on Friday night, and I’ll take this UNDER 6 (-105).
