Sprinter Tristan Dorville verbally commits to Virginia Tech

NEW COMMIT: Virginia Tech has received a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from sprinter Tristan Dorville of Jacksonville, Florida, who competes internationally for the Saint Lucian Swimming Federation.

He will join Lucas Hummel And Benedek Toth in Blacksburg as a member of the Hokies Class of 2029.

He told Swimming world:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at Virginia Tech. I want to thank God, my family, friends and mentors for making me the person I am today. Special thanks to Coach Albert and Sergio for this amazing opportunity. Dorville trains year-round with the Bolles School Sharks and competed in three events at Juniors East in December, finishing sixth in the 50-meter freestyle at the Florida Spring Championships.

At the international level, he most recently competed at the XXXVI CCCAN Championships, where he finished fourth in the 50m freestyle and seventh in the 200m freestyle. He was also a finalist at the XXXVII CARIFTA Championships on six occasions.

Dorville also competed in the World Championships in February and the Junior World Championships last fall.

His best times include:

• 50 m freestyle – 23.68
• 100 m freestyle – 51.74
• 100 m butterfly – 55.24
• 50 free – 20.86
• 100 free – 45,20
• 200 m freestyle – 1:41.53

Dorville, a rising senior at the Bolles School, finished fourth in the 100-meter freestyle at the 2023 Florida 1A State Championships.
