Jeanna Trotman, sports reporter and weekend sports anchor for WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), announced her last day at the station in a statement on Tuesday.

Born in Detroit, Trotman graduated from Henry Ford II High School in Sterling Heights before earning a degree in communications from Lake Superior State University and a master’s degree in broadcast journalism from Boston University.

“September 6th will be my last day at WXYZ,” said the volleyball player, who played four years in the NCAA Division II at LSSU. “I will be forever grateful for the people and stories of the last three years. I lived my childhood dream at the very station I grew up with. I’m excited for what’s next and will use this moment to dedicate myself to my family and myself.”

Trotman’s first job in television was in 2014 at KAAL, the ABC affiliate station in Minnesota, where she served as sports director before returning to her home state in 2017 as sports director at WEYI/WSMH, the NBC and FOX affiliate station in Flint.
