    If you have been thinking about voting in the 2024 general election on November 5 but have not yet registered, now is the time in many states.

    Each state has its own filing deadlines. A handful of these have already passed, but many within the next two weeks. Some are within the next week. Residents of North Carolina, Oklahoma and Idaho only have a few hours to become an online voter. Your registration deadline is Friday.

    North Carolina is one of eight states that Real Clear Politics still predicts as a misnomer based on the statewide polls it aggregates, potentially adding additional weight to every vote cast in the state. North Carolina’s 16 electoral votes are among the 104 that Real Clear Politics’ analysis shows to be errors.

    Voter registration deadlines by state 2024

    Of the eight winner-take-all states, voter rolls are already set in two: Arizona and Georgia. For all but Nevada, 10 or fewer days remain to register in the other six states.

    Alaska: The deadline expired on October 6th.

    Arizona: The deadline expired on October 7th.

    Arkansas: The deadline expired on October 7th.

    California: The online deadline is October 21st. Register online. Personal deadline: November 5th.

    Colorado: Deadline for entries is October 28th. Register online. Personal deadline: November 5th.

    Connecticut: Deadline for entries is October 18th. Register online. Personal deadline: November 5th.

    Delaware: Deadline for entries is October 12th. Register online.

    Colombia District: Deadline for entries is October 15th. Register online. Personal deadline: November 5th.

    Florida: The deadline expired on October 7th.

    Georgia: The deadline expired on October 7th.

    Hawaii: Deadline for entries is November 5th. Register online.

    New Hampshire: You can register to vote from now until Election Day.

    New York: The deadline for entries is October 26th. Register online.

    North Carolina: Deadline for entries is October 11th. Register online. Same-day registration is possible during early voting.

    North Dakota: No deadline – anyone living in the state can vote.

    Texas: The deadline expired on October 7th.

    Vermont: You can register from now until Election Day. Register online.

    Virginia: The registration deadline is October 14th. Register online. Personal registration deadline: November 5th.
