Solheim Cup: Charley Hull in the European team against the USA

Hull, who made her debut in 2013, will be making her seventh appearance after topping the Ladies European Tour (LET) Solheim Cup points list. The 27-year-old, ranked 10th in the world, has won 13.5 points in her 22 matches.

Henseleit, on the other hand, second on the points list, is making her debut at the biennial event.

The 25-year-old, who secured her qualifying place by finishing second at the Scottish Open last week, said: “It has been my dream to play in the Solheim Cup since I was a child. I can’t wait to play in the colours of Europe.”

Captain Pettersen added: “We have so much experience in the team, but it is also great to have Esther making her Solheim Cup debut.”

The other six automatically qualified players are on the team based on their world golf rankings.

For Boutier, it will be her fourth consecutive Solheim Cup, having made her debut in the 2019 win at Gleneagles and also played in the 2021 victory in Ohio before last year’s thrilling draw in Spain.

Maguire is making her third appearance and has collected an excellent 7.5 points in the ten games she has played in.

The event is normally played every two years but will be played in consecutive years to avoid clashing with the Ryder Cup, which was postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to Covid and will now be played in odd-numbered years.
