For better or worse, Notre Dame’s 2024 season relies heavily on what Riley Leonard can do. Leonard already had a second-quarter touchdown against Georgia Tech in the books and had a chance for his second after the Irish defense forced a three-pointer.

In contrast to the Irish’s previous offensive campaign, this one relied more on the pass and was very successful. After the ball reached Georgia Tech’s 12-yard line, Leonard decided to take the ball himself after the two-minute timeout. This proved to be the right decision as he found daylight and scored a touchdown that gave the Irish their first lead of the game, 14-7:

Again, you might not like how Leonard plays quarterback. You could say he’s better suited as a running back. But the most important thing right now is that the Irish are winning games, and he’s doing his part. Without it, you won’t be in the position you’re in, whether you like it or not. At least the Irish like it.

Here are some of the best reactions we found on social media to that second touchdown:

John McGlynn

Haters will hate though, right?

Brandon Fry

One of those who apparently doesn’t see him as a QB.

Ryan Chepkevich

The Irish actually win.

Brian Kennedy

Take it from a fan of his previous team.

Chris Bunnell

Well, that was certainly an open evaluation.

Greg Slusarski

Yes, Gregor. Again.
