Even though the scoring dropped in Notre Dame’s game against Georgia Tech, effective plays were still made to stop the Yellow Jackets. Yes, Zac Yoakam hit a 47-yard field goal to make the score 24-7, but that was far from the Irish’s greatest moment in recent memory.

First, Bryce Young blocked Aidan Birr’s 35-yard field goal attempt. It was the second time the Jackets botched such an attempt, having mishandled the ball on their first attempt.

On the second play of the Jackets’ next possession, Xavier Watts picked off a pass from backup quarterback Zach Pyron, who was starting in place of the injured Haynes King. The Irish took control of the ball and drove to Yoakam’s field goal. One of the plays on that drive included a successful fake punt.

It’s a reminder that the Irish can beat teams in many different ways, and that’s why they’re on their way to another win.

Here are a few tweets on social media about the aforementioned impact plays:

Exciting, right?

Maybe you’re right, Stuart.
