Soccer star Neymar has bought an empty waterfront property in Miami for $26 million

Brazilian soccer star Neymar da Silva Santos Jr. has bought an empty waterfront property in Miami for $26 million Wall Street Journal, A source familiar with the matter confirmed this Assets. The piece of land is in Bal Harbour, a wealthy enclave.

It’s less than an acre in size and has been listed for sale before: once for $30.5 million and another time for $28.5 million, both this year, per Zillow. So it seems Neymar got a deal. But since it is undeveloped land, he has to build. The Wall Street Journal reported that the offer included “approved plans for a 13,000-square-foot home designed by London-based design firm Elicyon.” Listing agents Ruthie Assouline and Ethan Assouline of Douglas Elliman declined to comment Magazine.

Bento Queiroz from Compass, the magazine The buyer reportedly represented the buyer and declined to comment on the identity of his client. However, he said the privacy and security of the gated community, as well as the sheer size of the property, attracted his client. “When we found the opportunity, it came together pretty quickly,” he told the publication. “The buyer said, ‘This is exactly what I’m looking for.'”

The seller appears to be Bent Philipson, who is listed as the previous owner according to property records. He is the founder of Philosophy Care, a nursing home and elder care consulting firm that has had some legal problems. It looks like he and his wife bought the property four years ago for $9.3 million. The magazine said he could not be reached for comment.

Last year, another soccer star, the greatest of all time, bought a waterfront villa in Fort Lauderdale: Lionel Messi. He purchased a ten-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bathroom property for $10.75 million. Located in a gated community, Bay Colony, it features a pool, three-car garage and floor-to-ceiling windows. Messi bought the property the same year he moved to Major League Soccer team Inter Miami. Could it be a sign that Neymar could join too? I can’t tell you that.

The average home value in Bal Harbour, Neymar’s new neighborhood, is almost $2 million; The average home value in Bay Colony is nearly $5 million, according to Zillow. Home prices have risen in both areas over the past year – but that’s not true across Florida, which has been plagued by natural disasters, insurance woes and rising property taxes. Because of this, many boomtowns in the Sunshine State have cooled down.
