Six Studios prepares film for “Crossed”

Get ready for some extremely crazy stuff.

Comic creator Garth Ennis (The boys, preachers) has written a screenplay for a film adaptation of his comic Crossed. And now Six Studios has acquired the script with the intention of financing and backing the film, according to a report on THR.

The comic series is set in a world ravaged by a pandemic, where those who contract a disease are marked with a cross-shaped rash on their face. Those affected follow their worst impulses – think of a zombie apocalypse, but instead of zombies, these are people who retain their sanity but are homicidal maniacs.

The official synopsis of the first Crossed The paperback edition states: “Imagine for a moment the worst crimes against humanity. Picture the cruelest violations of morality. Recall your worst nightmares… and then you will realize that things could be much worse. When civilization collapses in a single terrible moment; when those around you gleefully commit unthinkable acts of violence; when everyone you love has died screaming in agony: what do you do? There is no help. There is no hope. There is no escape. There are only the crucified.”

Six Studios is currently looking for a director for the project and hopes to begin filming in the fall.
