Biles married NFL Safety Jonathan Owens in a luxurious wedding in Cabo San Lucas on May 6, 2023

Simone Biles made a hilarious confession while celebrating the first anniversary of her wedding to husband Jonathan Owens.

Biles, 27, shared photos from the big day in Cabo San Lucas, where they tied the knot for a second time in front of friends and family on May 6, 2022, after officially marrying at a Houston courthouse a week earlier.

Among the photos Biles shared on her Instagram Stories on their anniversary was a sweet shot of her and her mother Nellie Biles celebrating a pool party on the wedding weekend.

Biles captioned the photo: “Mama Biles is probably telling me I need to eat before I pass out.”

Captioning the photo, she explained, “That would have been good advice about three hours earlier,” and admitted that she “actually fainted” and missed the rest of her pool party.

In another story, the Olympian shared a photo of herself drinking beer that someone else had apparently poured into her mouth. “& then I passed out,” Biles wrote about the photo.

Owens, 28, and Biles first met in March 2020 after meeting on the dating app Raya.

Biles later revealed that she made the first move by messaging her future husband. “He said I slid into his DMs,” the gymnast told Wall Street Journal in 2021.

“I saw him and was like, ‘Oh, he’s really cute,’ so I said hi… and then I saw he was in the Houston area, so we started chatting a little bit and then a week or two later we went to hang out,” she explained the origins of their relationship.

The couple tied the knot on April 22, 2023, in an intimate ceremony at a Texas registry office.

“We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the US because our wedding will be a destination wedding,” Biles told her followers at the time.

In her first Instagram post after the marriage became official, she wrote, “Yes, I am 🤍 officially Owens 🤍.” Owens, meanwhile, shared a similar post, writing, “My human forever ❤️💍.”

A week later, the couple traveled to Cabo San Lucas for their second ceremony, where they celebrated with about 140 guests.

The lavish event featured lush flowers, champagne and gold and white decor. Biles wore four different dresses during the celebration, while her new husband wore a tan suit and bow tie.

“I felt so sick all day, and when it was almost time to leave, my heart was pounding in my throat,” Biles recalled in an interview with fashion“I have never been so nervous in my life.”

A month after their wedding, Owens signed a contract with the Green Bay Packers, forcing the couple to adjust to a long-distance relationship. Biles supported him at several Packers games last season.

In March, the NFL safety became a free agent and signed with the Chicago Bears. Afterward, Biles celebrated her husband’s new chapter in Chicago and thanked Green Bay fans for their support last season.

“I just wanted to say thank you, Packer Nation, for welcoming my husband and I 💚 Green Bay will always have a special place in our hearts!” Biles wrote in her first post on X (formerly Twitter) after Owens signed with the Bears.

“CHICAGO, HE’S COMING,” she said wrote in a follow-up article.

She also posted about the new location and praised the renowned Hot dogs and pizza and added: “I also love the city of Chicago.”

“I’m so happy not to have a connecting flight to visit my husband, hahahahaaha,” she joked in another post. Biles ended her series of excited posts by describing how “incredibly proud“, she says to Owens and concludes: “The drudgery never ends! This is just the beginning!”
