Shilo Sanders injury update for the Colorado vs. Kansas State football game

Deion Sanders said Tuesday that Colorado’s football defense was at full strength for the first time in weeks.

Shilo Sanders is the final missing member of the Buffaloes’ starting defense. The team’s leading tackler from last season has been sidelined since Week 2 when he suffered a forearm injury that required surgery.

Colorado is fully healthy just in time for its Week 7 showdown against 18th-ranked Kansas State.

“Shilo is ready,” Deion Sanders said Tuesday. “He’s practicing, he’s fully engaged, he’s got a cast, he’s doing his thing. I can’t wait to see him there again because he and Cam (Silmon-Craig) are incredible together.”

“We should have the entire starting defense this week.”

Carter Stoutmire started the last three games in place of Shilo and played well. The sophomore defensive back totaled 13 tackles (10 solo) during that time and will continue to be part of the defensive game plan, according to Deion Sanders.

“Carter has done a great job and gained a lot of experience,” said Deion Sanders. “He is also involved in some packages, but Shilo is fully committed.”

The Colorado-Kansas State football game begins at Folsom Field on Saturday, October 12 at 8:15 p.m. MT.
