She left her sister’s wedding early because her service dog wasn’t invited – Chip Chick

Sadly, this 27-year-old woman suffered a traumatic experience a few years ago that left her with severe post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety.

She has a service dog to help her, and her 30-year-old sister knows exactly what happened to her and how important her service dog is to her survival in society.

Her dog is well trained and behaves outside. Her sister got married last weekend.

“When I agreed, I indicated that I would bring my service dog,” she explained. “A few days before the wedding, she called me, visibly stressed, and said that while she understood that I needed the dog, she felt it would be disruptive and might embarrass some guests.”

“She asked if I could attend the ceremony and reception without him. I explained that I rely on my service dog, especially in stressful situations like weddings, but she insisted that it would ruin her ‘perfect day’ if guests were distracted or if photos were ‘ruined’ by the dog.”

“She offered to send someone to stay with me and help me if I was afraid, but I politely declined, stressing that my service dog was essential to my well-being.”

When her sister’s actual wedding day came, she attended the ceremony without her dog. Several hours had passed and she made it to the reception, but then she felt too overwhelmed.

She went to her sister and told her that she was not feeling well, but her sister didn’t even seem to care.

Her sister was upset and after she ended up leaving early, she sent her a long text saying she basically ruined her day. Her sister accused her of being selfish and making the whole wedding about her.
