Sauce Magazine – Sauce Food Truck Friday returns to Tower Grove Park on August 16

We have 20 food trucks, local drinks, live music and adoptable puppies

The next Sauce Food Truck Friday of the season will be held at Tower Grove Park on Friday, August 16th from 4-8 p.m. The most notable thing about this special event is that Stray Rescue of St. Louis will be on hand with adoptable dogs and puppies in celebration of National Dog Month. As usual, there will be about 20 trucks parked there that day, and here we highlight six trucks for you to look out for.

Doughboys wood-fired pizza
Known for its freshly baked wood-fired pizzas and abundance of toppings, Doughboy’s offers specialties like the Sweet Hair Chicken with garlic chicken, pineapple, red onions, green peppers and sweet hair sauce, and the Doughboy’s Club with ranch, garlic chicken, bacon and tomatoes. Classic pizzas like Supreme or Buffalo Chicken will also be offered. For those not in the mood for pizza, Doughboy’s will make quesadillas with your choice of fillings. Sodas and bottled water will also be available.

G Burrito
This truck offers burritos, quesadillas and nachos with beef or chicken, which can be ordered plain or as a fajita with tomatoes, onions and peppers. There are also street tacos with cilantro, onions and a choice of carne asada, chicken or al pastor in three handmade corn tortillas.

Clara B’s kitchen table
Clara B’s offers an extensive menu of Southern fare. In addition to classics like shrimp and grits, spicy chicken pears with honey, and bacon mac and cheese, there are also some new creations like Frito Pie Taquitos and a honey smoked pork belly roll. For a vegetarian option, Clara B’s offers a tomato watermelon salad with cornbread croutons. For a beverage option, watermelon strawberry lemonade is offered.

#10 of 12 places to eat in Treaux
Combining barbecue and Cajun dishes into a perfect combination, Treax’s offers a pork or chicken sandwich, jambalaya bowl, red bean and rice bowl, and Cajun-style tacos and nachos, among other options. Sides include potato salad and coleslaw, and their sweet and easy kettle corn for dessert.

Honeybee tea
To help everyone in the park cool off in the August heat, Honey Bee Tea is offering a long drink menu this Friday, including milk teas, fruit teas, specialty teas, kids’ drinks, coffee and more. Flavors include Sweet Garden, Golden Pineapple, Sunrise Strawberry Galaxy and Honeydew Kiwi.

Balls of Joy
Scoops of Joy strives to bring a little bit of joy to every customer with every scoop of their freshly made ice cream, so the company offers flavors like Tahitian Vanilla, Truffle Chocolate, Lemon Cheesecake, and Butter Salted Caramel, to name a few. Additionally, they offer ice cream cones with flavors like Midnight Vanilla, Lavender Matcha, and Red Velvet to make every bite just a little bit more joyful.

In addition to the food trucks, beverages will also be sold, including frozen drinks from Narwhal’s Crafted, a selection of beers from 4 Hands Brewing Co. and cannabis-infused fizz from Mighty Kind. Local band Russo and Co. will play live music. For the full schedule, visit saucefoodtruckfriday.com.
