SAI.TECH announces the signing of a letter of intent with Idaho Central

SINGAPORE, Aug. 16, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — SAI.TECH Global Corporation (“SAI.TECH” or “SAI” or the “Company”) (NASDAQ: SAI, SAITW) announces the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (the “MoU”) with Idaho Competitive Aquatics, LLC. (the “Idaho Competitive”) regarding SAI US Inc.’s Idaho Central Aquatic Center project. This initiative will build the next SAINODE in Idaho and integrate SAI’s Advanced Computing Center Ecosystem (ACCE) to improve heating performance in the aquatic center’s operations.

The MoU is a collaboration between SAI and Idaho Competitive, leveraging Idaho Competitive’s site resources and supplier coordination, and SAI will install a liquid-cooled container data center and chip heating system solutions, and jointly conduct on-site construction.

This partnership represents a significant step forward for SAI and is the company’s first computing heat recycling project for an aquatics center. The ACCE will capture and recycle the data center’s computing heat to heat the aquatics center, replacing the current natural gas heating system. Once completed, this center will be developed as SAI NODE Idaho, similar to SAI NODE Marietta and SAI NODE Cleveland.

With this project, SAI aims to significantly reduce carbon emissions by reusing waste heat from computers. Based on historical data showing a monthly consumption of 8,000 thermal units, it is estimated that the project will reduce emissions by approximately £96,000 per month. In addition, once completed, the new system is expected to reduce the aquatic centre’s heating costs by more than 40%.

“We are committed to working with Idaho Competitive Aquatics to explore every opportunity to continually improve operational efficiency and reduce facility heating costs,” said Arthur, CEO of SAI. “Our partnership is just the beginning of our shared commitment to sustainability and innovation in the aquatics industry.”

About ACCE

ACCE consists of three systems: WITBOX, HEATBOX and USERBOX. WITBOX houses high-performance computer servers with advanced liquid cooling technologies that efficiently dissipate server heat and capture over 97% of it for reuse. HEATBOX transfers, recycles and regulates reused computer heat, delivering on-demand heat in a temperature range of 120°F to 290°F. USERBOX supports various industrial heating requirements with integrated solutions tailored to computer heat reuse applications.
