Rodents and unsafe food cause three restaurants at Sawgrass Mills Malls to close due to inspection

Rodent droppings and food that needed to be thrown out prompted a state inspector to close three grocery stores at the Sawgrass Mills shopping center Friday.

The hat trick of failed inspections facing the Florida Panthers arena came two weeks after eight restaurants at a Palm Beach County mall food court were closed due to rodent problems. The Sunrise trio also included a Sbarro.

All three Sawgrass Mills restaurants passed re-inspection the next day, which doesn’t necessarily mean the rodents are gone or have been eradicated. This means that the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation inspector did not consider the rodent feces as evidence of the presence of rodents.
