Rishi Sunak made an embarrassing mistake during a live radio conference call when he confused a caller’s name with his hometown.

The Prime Minister had to be corrected after referring to Louise from the Rhondda Valley in Wales as “Rhonda”.

The humiliating faux pas occurred when he had to endure an embarrassing half-hour interrogation on LBC this morning.

Presenter Nick Ferrari said: “Louise is in the Rhondda Valley, you are connected with the Prime Minister. Please, Louise.”

Louise said, “Good morning, Nick, good morning, Prime Minister.”

Sunak then said: “Hello, Rhonda.”

Ferrari quickly interrupted and pointed out: “It’s Louise in the Rhondda Valley.”

The embarrassed Prime Minister replied: “Sorry, Louise, I missed that. Hello, Louise.”

Social media was typically merciless, even comparing the Prime Minister to Alan Partridge.

Elsewhere during the call, Sunak was accused of showing “a complete lack of leadership” for failing to sack honeytrap MP William Wragg, and questioned about why he has still not called an election.
