Resident expresses frustration over problems with delivery service

JACKSON, Tenn. – After moving to West Tennessee, a resident is speaking out about problems with the delivery system.

Since moving into her new home, Rayna Malone says she has had problems with FedEx’s delivery system and her packages have failed to be delivered.

“We had absolutely nothing that we had brought with us. We needed the bare necessities: blankets, pillows, sheets, beds, mattresses – the basics,” Malone said.

Malone ordered packages from Walmart, Amazon and Wayfair and each delivery was a hassle.

After the package was on its way for delivery, it never arrived at her home.

“It’s on its way to delivery. I check all day to see what’s going on. At 3, 4, 7 o’clock it comes by, all of a sudden I check again and it says ‘delivery attempted.’ No one was there to sign. These are packages that no one could sign for, these are packages that no one has to sign for,” Malone said.

One particular case occurred when she ordered food through a third-party provider that vacuum packs food.

Due to the note “spoiled” the delivery could not be made.

“I never received a food package. It was my weekly supply and cost $109. Of course, I got my money back from the company 5 to 10 days later. Now I have no food left and have to spend another $100 to replace it,” Malone said.

She found this situation unusual because she often ordered groceries from this store and they were not spoiled.

Malone called the 800 service number several times for help.

As a result, she only received the packages days later, but she thinks that is an exaggeration.

“He said you can’t call any of our branches directly, you have to call through us and we have to put you through. He tried to put me through, but no one at that branch answered the phone,” Malone said.

Malone noticed that others were reportedly having problems with this FedEx.

They report delayed delivery of medication and unusability of the drugs.

“I want someone to be held accountable. That’s what I want to see. Yes, I’m very concerned about my own needs, but from what I’m reading, people are not getting the medical equipment they need – medicines, things that can’t be easily replaced,” Malone said.

She also shares that neither food delivery services nor other delivery services have had problems finding her home, only this particular FedEx.

“Every package that’s delivered specifically to this house goes through Humboldt. Every single issue I have comes out of Humboldt. That’s the last place the packages go before they actually end up on the local delivery trucks,” Malone said.

Malone also says that one of the last packages was delivered, but was left at the edge of her pool.

Malone says she will not have any items shipped through FedEx until this issue is resolved.
