Sean “Diddy” Combs was placed on suicide watch while in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to People,

The 54-year-old rapper was arrested earlier this week on federal sex crimes charges including conspiracy to commit organized crime, sex trafficking and transportation for the purpose of prostitution. Combs pleaded not guilty to all charges but was denied bail after a judge agreed with prosecutors that he was a flight risk and a threat to witnesses.

In their bail request, Combs’ lawyers cited conditions at the Metropolitan Detention Center, where an inmate was murdered earlier this summer and at least four inmates have committed suicide over the past three years. Jeffrey Epstein also took his own life at the Metropolitan Detention Center in 2019.

Combs will remain in custody until his trial begins. People Combs has reportedly been placed on suicide watch because he is in shock and his mental state is unclear.
