According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, wide receiver Deebo Samuel and tight end George Kittle are expected to play against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday night. The team listed both players as questionable Friday — Samuel because of illness and a wrist injury and Kittle because of a foot sprain.

Samuel was limited to just four snaps last week against the Kansas City Chiefs due to illness. After the game he was hospitalized with pneumonia. He was later released on Tuesday and rejoined his teammates on Wednesday.

Neither Samuel nor Kittle practiced Wednesday, but both had limited attendance on Thursday and Friday.

Samuel described the frightening experience after practice on Friday.

“Honestly, I really couldn’t breathe,” Samuel told reporters. “And I didn’t really know what was going on until after the game.”

During warm-ups, he began to suspect something was seriously wrong.

“I didn’t have the energy to run or anything for a while,” Samuel said. “And then I came in and we tried to do a lot of IVs… but luckily we found it right after the game, and then everything else.”

“It was scary because it’s really hard to breathe and you can’t take a deep breath. And in the middle of it all, I’m just like, ‘What’s going on?’ And then after the game we found out what was going on.

This season, Samuel recorded 20 receptions for 335 yards and a touchdown and 19 carries for 51 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Kittle has now registered 34 receptions for 375 yards and five touchdowns.

Cornerback Deommodore Lenoir (illness) and safety George Odum (knee) are also questionable for Sunday night. Defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin), wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) and kicker Jake Moody (right ankle) were ruled out.
