The voting panel includes MLB legends and past honorees such as Derek Jeter, David Ortiz, Albert Pujols, Ken Griffey Jr. and others.

EDLC was added to the list by:

  • William Contreras of the Milwaukee Brewers
  • Freddie Freeman of the Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Bryce Harper of the Philadelphia Phillies
  • Francisco Lindor of the New York Mets
  • Ketel Marte of the Arizona Diamondbacks
  • Jackson Merrill of the San Diego Padres
  • Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers
  • Marcell Ozuna of the Atlanta Braves
  • Kyle Schwarber of the Philadelphia Phillies

Ohtani, Harper and Freeman have won the award in the past.

Fans can also participate in the selection process by voting for their preferred candidates from the list of finalists in both the American League and National League. Voting is available at MLB.com/aaron and runs through Sunday, October 13th. The Hank Aaron Award winners will be announced on November 14th.

The Hank Aaron Award was created in 1999 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Aaron surpassing Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record, marking the first major award introduced by MLB in over 25 years.
