Reba McEntire And Melissa Peterman are reuniting for a brand new television series this fall, but who says we can’t get a sneak peek now at what’s to come on one of Hollywood’s biggest nights?

The former Reba Co-stars will appear side by side in the upcoming sitcom Happy’s Place (premieres Friday, October 18 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC) and people got to see the longtime friends back in action at the 2024 Emmy Awards. Reba (whose current reality competition show The voice was nominated for five trophies) and Melissa made fans’ hearts beat faster when she presented the award for the most outstanding scripted variety series, which went to Last Week Tonight with John OliverIn addition, the duo couldn’t resist a few little jokes before the winner was announced (for example, they had to remember the names of the nominees without the instant TV channel).

“You know, Reba, I have to admit, I’m a little nervous,” Melissa joked as she began her performance on stage. “I’ve never done this before, and I’ve seen the Emmys, and there’s a LOT that can go wrong.”

“Yes, that’s why we rehearsed! Anything can happen!” Reba replied hilariously as the audience burst into laughter.

When the two fought eye to eye in the comedy department, Reba couldn’t get enough of seeing Reba and Melissa’s beloved relationship on screen again.

“Reba and Melissa’s performance was for the real fans… iykyk,” one person exclaimed on X. “I’m so happy Reba and Melissa Peterman are returning to TV together,” another agreed. “I love that 23 years after REBA premiered, Reba McEntire and Melissa Peterman are still the perfect duo,” another viewer added.

When asked how Reba and Melissa’s friendship helps with their upcoming TV series, Melissa shared the importance of their companionship People before the 2024 Emmy Awards.

“I think the chemistry we have, the dynamic, it’s there, so we’re bringing that into Happy’s Placeshe told the outlet. “We have new characters, it’s a new situation, so the chemistry is still there. It’s the same dynamic that people want to see. We talked about how we’ve waited a long time and this timing feels right. It feels like we’ve been waiting for the right cast, the right timing, and we’re ready.”

We would love to see it!
