“Reacher” renewed for season 4, Amazon sets release of third season for 2025

“Reacher” has been prematurely renewed for season 4 on Amazon Prime Video.

In the announcement, the streamer confirmed that the third season of the action crime series will be released sometime in 2025.

In Season 3 – based on the seventh book in Lee Child’s bestselling Jack Reacher series, Persuader – Alan Ritchson’s hulking vigilante goes undercover to rescue an informant held by an enemy from his past.

As previously announced, Maria Sten will return for season three alongside Anthony Michael Hall, Sonya Cassidy, Brian Tee, Johnny Berchtold, Robert Montesinos, Daniel David Stewart and Olivier Richters.

The news comes a week after Prime Video announced a “Reacher” spinoff starring Sten. “The Untitled Neagley Project,” as the show is called in a press release, focuses on Sten’s Frances Neagley, a private investigator close to Jack Reacher.

The synopsis for the spin-off reads: “When she learns that a beloved friend from her past has died in a suspicious accident, she is desperate for justice. Using everything she learned from Jack Reacher and her time as a member of the 110 Special Investigators, Neagley sets out on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.”

According to Amazon, Season 2 of “Reacher” was the most-watched release of 2023 on Prime Video.

The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios, Skydance Television and CBS Studios. Based on the novels by Child, who serves as the series’ executive producer, Reacher was written for television by Nick Santora, who also serves as showrunner and executive producer. Other EPs include Ritchson, Don Granger, Scott Sullivan and Mick Betancourt as well as David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Matt Thunell for Skydance. Carolyn Harris and Kenny Madrid are executive directors of the series for Skydance Television.

“’Reacher’ has become a phenomenon that continues to resonate with our global customers beyond our wildest expectations, and we are thrilled to bring the series back for another season,” said Vernon Sanders, head of television, Amazon MGM Studios. “We look forward to more action and adventure from the incredibly talented team behind the series, including Nick Santora, Alan Ritchson, Lee Child, Skydance and CBS Studios.”
