Ravens-Falcons Stock Watch, Preseason 2 2024

Just getting back in the game is good news for Ojabo, who hadn’t played in a game since Sept. 24 of last season. He had two strong third-down runs that led to pressure, once driving Heinicke out of the pocket and once hitting his arm on a third-down throw. Then Ojabo got a quick win and was able to let Heinicke run free in the second quarter, leading to a quarterback hit.

Robinson pounced on Falcons running back Jase McClellan on a two-point conversion attempt with the game hanging in the balance. Robinson entered the game after rookie outside linebacker Adisa Isaac was injured, and the “Glass Eater,” as pass rush coach Chuck Smith called him, made the game-winning play.

After leading the Ravens in receptions and receiving yards in the first game of the preseason, Wade did his damage with a single strike on Saturday. Wade had wide open space after hitting a Falcons cornerback with a stutter-step double move and catching Emory Jones’ pass for a 56-yard touchdown in the third quarter.

Jones had a forgettable NFL debut when he lost the ball on his first play and it was recovered by the Eagles, securing their victory. This time, Jones delivered a perfect pass for Wade’s touchdown and finished the game 7 of 9 passing for 100 yards and a touchdown. The undrafted rookie from Cincinnati has a chance at a practice squad spot in Baltimore or elsewhere.

Isaac made his debut after a hamstring injury sidelined him all preseason and most of training camp. After flashing in practice this week, Isaac did the same in the game. He chased a ball carrier from behind to prevent a longer drive and won several pass rush reps to apply pressure. Isaac left the game late because of cramping, head coach John Harbaugh said.

Wright was the starter and didn’t have much room on the ground (eight carries, nine yards), but he made a nice play, catching a pass on third down in the flat and fighting through contact to stretch to the pylon and score the Ravens’ first touchdown. He also nearly broke free on a 30-yard kickoff return to end the game. Wright continued to make his mark at the third running back spot.

Brade nearly made the defensive play of the game when he made a diving interception that was ruled to have fallen to the turf on replay. It was still pretty impressive, and the undrafted rookie was in coverage at the end of the same drive when an incomplete pass on third down went for a shot into the end zone. Brade finished the game with eight tackles, the most on his team.

Cleveland picked up the ball when Josh Johnson was still yelling orders for a change and wasn’t looking. That fumble resulted in a 21-yard loss that the Falcons recovered. Cleveland is a natural guard and has been training with Tyler Linderbaum at center to improve his versatility.

Vorhees was picked off by Falcons defensive lineman Ruke Orhorhoro on third down on the Ravens’ first offensive play. The Ravens were unable to get much pressure inside on the run game from their offensive line, but Johnson was sacked only once.
