Rain showers today, drier tomorrow

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – The remnants of Francine will continue to bring heavy rains to some areas today.

A Flood warning is in effect until 7:00 a.m. for several counties south and west of Nashville. The reason for this is the persistent rainfall of the last few days from Francine, mainly west/south of I-24.

Rain will continue in some areas today. There will be heavy downpours at times, but as the day progresses the rain will ease and become more scattered. Also, rain will not be everywhere today. While Nashville has a 50/50 chance of isolated showers today, areas east of I-24 will remain fairly dry throughout the day. Highs this afternoon will be between 77 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Sunday is expected to be significantly drier. However, isolated showers cannot be ruled out. The probability of rain is only 30%. Tomorrow there will be several sunny periods and maximum temperatures will rise to 30 to 40 degrees.

Next week is expected to be significantly drier, brighter and warmer. From Monday to Friday it will be sunny and cloudy every day, with maximum temperatures above 30 degrees and minimum temperatures just over 15 degrees.
