Quinn Ewers or Arch Manning: Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich pushed for Steve Sarkisian’s decision

How they were treated again in their last game, Quinn Ewers vs. Arch Manning, is once again the talk of Austin. However, Paul Finebaum and Heather Dinich disagree, saying it’s not worth discussing at all Texas.

Finebaum and Dinich quickly answered the question on “Get Up” this morning about whether there’s a chance of a quarterback change for the Longhorns. Both said no because, despite Manning’s potential, Ewers is currently their best option at the position.

“No,” Finebaum said. “Quinn Ewers is still the better quarterback. Arch Manning is fantastic, the best replacement in America, but at the moment Sark is making the right decision.”

“NO. Leave (Ewers) in the game,” Dinich added.

This again goes back to how things went for the pair against each other last weekend Georgia. After a poor offensive start, Steve Sarkisian replaced Ewers for Manning on the final two drives of the first half. While Ewers was immediately reinstated in the second half, the debate between the two reignited, especially in a prime-time spot like this one. In fact, it led to even more inaccurate hearsay earlier this week.

Ewers went 25/43 (58.1%) for 211 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Manning then went 3/6 (50%) for 19 yards, with no points or picks. The two also fumbled three times, with all three lost against the Bulldogs’ defense. They were also under a lot of pressure as they took seven sacks with them.

This came after Manning had played well over two and a half games in Ewers’ injury-related absence. He had until the end of September and into October to show why many people like him, regardless of his last name. But after nearly a month of recovery precautions, Ewers was back as the starter for the Red River Rivalry.

Ewers vs. Manning will continue to be a thing, especially now that the backup has now had the opportunity to play. Still, Finebaum and Dinich still agree with Sarkisian about sticking with Ewers as the starter.
