“QUADRANT” by Charles Band (2024) – Film review

Director: Charles Band (Full Moon Productions), quadrant is a step away from the cheesy fun it usually portrays. Instead, it shows us the dangers of virtual reality. Is virtual reality possible one day? Probably when we’re all underground. Facing reality requires a lot of effort for me. I don’t think I would like the idea very much. It’s bizarre to watch a somewhat serious film. I love Full Moon Productions; they have given us Puppeteer. I even use his films as a background when I write about the man who Gingerdead Man, Evil Bongand countless others.

Summary

The Quadrant helmet allows you to sit in virtual experiences, even in death. It makes your worst fears come to life. However, people are stronger in the quadrant. If you face your fears and win, the fear will disappear. quadrant is tested to the limit and backfires when Erin arrives and after several sessions begins to crave the experience. Erin (Shannon Barnes) witnesses the power of death and goes a bit overboard when she starts killing people in the real world. The creators desperately try to fix the problem, but it’s too late. Erin was on her own killing spree. A brand new Jack the Ripper.

Here’s a look at the official poster.

A story

When you look at Charles Band’s achievements, you can see that he’s been doing this for a long time. Dozens, if not hundreds, of films that have helped some of us through dark times, just for a cheap laugh, to make us feel better. quadrantis like a freight train coming straight at you. This movie is the true B-movie. It baffles me sometimes that Charles Band can flip a switch and make a somewhat serious movie with a great plot.

The locations were excellent. I felt like I was living in the helmet; that’s how fascinated I was by the film. It raises the question, “How far are we willing to go with science?” Where will the obsession lead if we stop paying attention? It tries to intimidate us into facing our fears and criticisms. But if I watch it enough times, I’m sure I’d get bored. How far can you go? Will there be anything to learn? While the film was great, there were some confusing moments, and it starts with a big scene followed by Erin’s introduction.

At the end

I won’t give the film away because if you see it once, you’ll watch it a few more times. It’s entertaining and exciting. The cast did their best and the film turned out well. If I learned anything from this film, it’s that I’m interested in seeing all the work that’s being done. I was impressed by the film and its legendary director. Charles Band has been an idol since almost all of his films were released “direct to video” and I loved finding random films in the 90s. That was a much better time.

This film reminds me of all the happy moments I looked for in my darkest corners. It helped me get back on the wave after a few bad weeks. I survived on Charles Band films because they irritate people, not out of malice. It’s about being able to enjoy something even when everyone else thinks you’re weird.

quadrant will be released in cinemas on April 23, 2024
