PrizePicks picks for Tuesday, November 5th

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

The opening games of the 2024-25 college basketball regular season continue on Tuesday, November 5th. We have an entertaining game between the UC Davis Aggies and the Washington Huskies, who are playing their first game as a member of the Big Ten Conference.

Washington retooled its roster for its historic first season in the Big Ten by signing Great Oobor, formerly of Utah State. In his only season at Utah State and early in his career at Montana State, he posted 17.7 points (PPG), 9.0 rebounds (RPG), 2.8 assists (APG), 1.4 blocked shots (BPG) and 1.3 steals (SPG).

If you’re not familiar with how to play, you simply need to pick at least two players from any sport and choose more or less based on their expected stats to win. Of course, we will only select college hoops players, but you can also mix and match from various other sports. You can also opt for a flex game, meaning you can have a winning night even if you have a losing pick. Or you can go big and go for the power play, which has a higher payout. However, you have to pull out all the stops to win. Let’s get started!

Great Osobor, F, Washington

The 6-foot-8 senior averaged nearly a double-double at Logan last season in his only season at Utah State. Now he’s aiming for a big break as he wants to make Washington basketball great again on Election Day.

Oobor and the Huskies should come out of it on the right foot, although UC Davis certainly won’t be a pushover. This is a team that lost in the Big West Tournament championship game last season and is expected to finish in the top half of the conference again in 2024-25.

Oobor averaged 23.8 PPG in his first five games last season as he was a quick starter. When facing a smaller UCD team in Seattle, look for Oobor to easily surpass his points and assists ceiling.

Ty Johnson, G, UC Davis

The senior Johnson is the Aggies’ best hope of pulling off an upset. He averaged 17.8 PPG, 3.7 RPG and 3.3 APG while shooting 44.3 percent from the field last season.

As the year progressed, he continued to get stronger in his junior season. He dropped 30 points against Long Beach in the Big West final, but the Aggies trailed by four points. Johnson is also a good 3-point shooter, but then the talent level on the other side is usually not as great.

For example, looking at the Oregon State game last season, he only had nine points, three goals and a single assist. Against a bigger Nevada team, he also only had nine points, five points and four assists. Johnson will do some damage for UCD in his senior season and could lead this team to a conference title. But he will perform worse against Washington because of the size difference.

DJ Davis, G, Washington

Looking at Davis for the Huskies, he outscored Butler with 13.5 PPG, 3.2 RPG and 2.6 APG while shooting 42.9 percent from the field.

Davis knows UC Davis well, having played against them for three seasons when he was a player at UC Irvine from 2020-23. During the 2022-23 season, Davis scored 18 points, including two three-pointers, at home against the Aggies on February 18, 2023, while he scored 14 points with two triples in a game at UCD on January 5, 2023.

Familiarity with the Aggies will be a good thing for Davis. In his first game with Washington against an opponent he knows, look for Davis to be quite comfortable on offense.
