Predicted Liverpool vs Arsenal lineup: Premier League

Just a week after beating Chelsea, Liverpool face their next big test under Arne Slot when the Reds face Arsenal at the Emirates.

Through eight games, Liverpool sit at the top of the Premier League table, one point ahead of Manchester City and four points ahead of Arsenal. However, if the Reds want to stay in first place, they need to get a win over the Gunners, something only Bournemouth have managed this season (when Arsenal had ten players).

Liverpool will not be at full strength when they travel to north London on October 27. Slot confirmed that Diogo Jota will miss the game with a rib injury and Alisson remains out with a hamstring injury. Federico Chiesa and Conor Bradley also remain doubts.

Although Slot has two natural replacements for both Jota and Alisson, the Liverpool manager also needs to decide who will start in midfield alongside Ryan Gravenberch. Alexis Mac Allister may be the obvious choice, but Curtis Jones’ impressive performance against Chelsea last weekend gives the manager something to think about.

This is what Liverpool’s team could look like against the Gunners.

GK: Caoimhin Kelleher—The 25-year-old has conceded just two goals in his four appearances for Liverpool this season.

RB: Trent Alexander Arnold—The England international is playing on the right wing for the ninth time in a row in the Premier League.

CB: Ibrahima Konate—Konaté and his fellow defenders must remain steadfast if the Reds want to deny Arsenal another set-piece goal.

LB: Andrew Robertson– The Scotland international is expected to return to the eleven after Konstantinos Tsimikas was given the nod in midweek.

DM: Ryan Gravenberch—A rejuvenated Gravenberch under slot will be key to disrupting Arsenal’s free-flowing attack.

DM: Alexis Mac Allister—Mac Allister is Slot’s first choice alongside Gravenberch, but the Argentine has serious competition from Jones, who scored the winner against Chelsea.

RW: Mohamed Salah– Salah has found the net seven times in all competitions this season and will look to add to his 10 career goals against the Gunners on Sunday.

AM: Dominik Szoboszlai—Szoboszlai is still looking for his first goal of the season.

LW: Luis Diaz—Díaz has seen Cody Gakpo take his place on the left wing in Liverpool’s last two games, but the Colombian is expected to return to the starting XI against Arsenal.
